News gadget not updating

Rated 3.93/5 based on 902 customer reviews

Takes a moment to implement the change but as soon as I could get out of settings, the widgets had all updated. I "tested" it several times by making changes to reminders and every time, it instantly updated the widget.

So, it appears that this solution actually fixed the problem rather than simply causing one refresh.

Neither of these things work anymore since about a month ago (possibly the 2.3.4 update? I have background data enabled, sync enabled, and I don't have any battery saver style programs.

Recently purchased a Droid X and Social Networking and News Widgets just stopped updating. Wnet to verizon store and they said is a motorola at all. I've tried deleting and re-installing; still won't work.

Though windows 7 retained Windows vista’s Gadgets and integrated them in the context menu, the sidebar in Windows 7 is different from that in Windows vista.

Before I posted here, I found the solution, but I came here to share the solution to get some good karma, since I've had helpful people here solve lots of problems for me in the past.

Credit for the solution: This doesn't solve the issue.

To fix this problem, one need to simply set the UAC back to default level or at-least level 1.

Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more.

Add news, photos, weather, and stuff from across the web to your page.

This is to ensure that users do not install any malicious unsigned gadget in windows 7.

Many Vista users were complaining about UAC and they wanted to keep it turned off.
